Making AI simple for real people

AI for Basic People was created because most AI content is written by tech insiders for tech insiders. We're here to change that.

Why I started this

A few years ago, I watched my mom try to understand what all the AI fuss was about. She's smart — decades of work experience, raises grandkids, runs a household — but every article she read made her feel more confused, not less.

“Why does everyone write about this like I already know what it means?” she asked me. She was right. Most AI content assumes you already know the basics. It's written by people who live inside tech for people who live inside tech.

I'd been working with AI for years and could explain it simply when talking to friends and family. So I started doing that on YouTube — just me, talking to the camera, explaining AI the way I'd explain it to my mom.

The response surprised me. Thousands of people who felt left out of the AI conversation finally felt like they had a guide who wasn't talking down to them or burying them in jargon. That became the mission.

The problem we're solving

AI is becoming as important as the internet. In 5 years, not understanding AI basics will be like not understanding how to use email in 2000.

But right now, there's a massive gap. On one side: tech experts talking to other tech experts. On the other: millions of curious, intelligent people who just want someone to explain it clearly.

We're on the bridge. We translate tech into human.

What we believe

Clarity over cleverness

We never use a complicated word when a simple one works. Understanding beats impressing.

Respect for the audience

Confused doesn't mean dumb. Our audience is smart — they just haven't been given the right explanation yet.

Accessibility for everyone

AI education shouldn't be locked behind a CS degree. We make it available to everyone.

Honesty

We tell you what AI can't do as honestly as what it can. Hype helps no one.

Practical over theoretical

We focus on what you can actually use today, not abstract research or sci-fi futures.

Community first

This is built by someone who wants to help, not a corporation optimizing for engagement.
